After feedback from our community, we pulled the original SPF 30. It was thickening in the bottle, and we knew we could do better.
This new formula glides on smoother, holds up to sweat and salt, and still sticks to our natural, reef-safe ethos. Backed by real-world testers.

Does the product contain palm oil?
Absolutely not! We do not and will never have any association with this ingredient. All of our ingredients are sustainably sourced to ensure we have the lowest impact upon our shared environment. The only thing we take from palms is inspiration 🌴
Will it stop me from burning?
Palm & Pine will prevent burning and sun damage if used as recommended. However, be sensible with your sun-worshipping. Apply correctly, and regularly. Avoid playing in the sun in the middle of the day. Wear a hat and sunglasses. If you're in the water for more than a couple of hours take a break, find some shade under the palms or pines, grab a cold drink, reapply☀️
Can I use it every day?
YES! In fact UV protection should be part of your daily sunscreen. UV rays are everywhere, all the time, so to prevent skin damage we recommend using our light, SPF 30 formula every day as part of your skincare routine. The SPF 50 can be used every time you do sport or for extra protection in your day to day.
Is it vegan?
YES. Palm & Pine is proud to be 100% vegan 🌱.
How long will the SPF 30 protect me for?
Different skin types respond to the sun in different ways so we want to avoid hard and fast recommendations here. We do, however, encourage the reapplication of the SPF 30 protection every few hours. If you’re sweating and in water, it will be necessary to reapply more frequently.
How many hours of protection will I get from the SPF 50?
Different skin types respond to the sun in different ways so we want to avoid hard and fast recommendations here. We do, however, encourage the reapplication every couple of 2 - 4 hours. If you’re sweating and in water, it will be necessary to reapply more frequently.
Can I apply Palm & Pine around my eyes?
The SPF 30 is a light formula so it may run into your eyes with sweat and water. Palm & Pine uses no chemical blockers or preservatives which can irritate eyes, however, anything going into the eyes can cause irritation so we recommend avoiding eye contact, where possible.

Are the products suitable for babies and sensitive skin?
Our products are made with 100% natural ingredients, perfect for babies and sensitive skin. Natural products have a far lower likelihood of causing irritation and skin reactions than chemical and synthetic ones. That said, we can’t speak for all skin types so to be sure we recommend performing a patch test on a small area of skin if you have sensitive skin. If you have a reaction, discontinue use immediately.
Who are the products suitable for?
The SPF 30 is suitable for everyone and anyone looking for natural, daily skin protection. Designed to be used as a daily moisturiser or at the beach.
The SPF 50 is a thick paste that has been designed to create a UV barrier to provide water and sweat-resistant protection. We have designed this for surfers and sport but it also provides great protection for the face in your day to day life.
How do you apply the SPF 30?
Apply liberally onto clean, dry skin and rub in evenly prior to sun exposure. Apply enough to give a visible layer before rubbing in. Re-apply every one to two hours and after swimming, exercise, excessive perspiration or towel drying. Store below 30°C.
How do you apply the SPF 50?
We recommend rubbing a thin layer into the skin in a circular motion as you would a normal lotion. We then recommend finishing with a second, more visible layer for maximum protection.
How do I remove the SPF 50?
The wax formula gives tough, water resistant protection that stays on. We recommend using an oil-based cleanser or coconut oil and cloth to remove the thick layer then using your normal skincare routine to cleanse and moisturise your skin.
What makes the SPF 50 vegan?
To achieve the best possible natural water resistance, we use wax. Normally this comes from beeswax but we chose sunflower wax so that everyone can enjoy Palm & Pine 🌱
Why are you called Palm & Pine?
Palm trees and pine trees represent our two favourite playgrounds. We love surfing and sunshine living near palm trees, and snowboarding and hiking amongst pine trees. Our mission was to create a sunscreen to protect you wherever you play 😎✌️
