After chatting with dermatologists and geeking out over journals, we’ve discovered that the simple rules for healthy skin are actually very simple and the best part is that everyone can get started on their skincare journey right away!

1. Stay hydrated

Water could well be the best solution for fresh, glowing skin. 

Staying hydrated has been proven to improve the skin's elasticity and ability to heal itself, this, in turn, will reduce fine lines, naturally moisturise, reduce breakouts and heal scars. 

Studies have shown that women should drink about  2.7 litres of fluids a day and men should drink 3.7 litres. These numbers should increase depending on your physical exertion, heat or humidity.

2. Wash your face

It sounds simple but wash your face every morning, evening, and after working out to remove dirt, sweat, and makeup. Choose a gentle cleanser, avoiding harsh chemicals and alcohols that may irritate your skin. Whilst washing, avoid scrubbing too hard as this may also aggravate skin causing redness and breakouts. Exfoliate a couple of times per week at most to refresh the surface of the skin, remove dead skin cells and help to brighten the skin.

3. Eat healthily

Eating a healthy diet with food containing peptides and essential fatty acids has been proven to slow the ageing of skin whilst also nursing you from the inside out. Improve your skin and all-round health by eating more foods such as lentils, soy, avocados and various nuts which provide natural fats which support healthy skin.

4. Exercise

Recent studies have proven that regular exercise and keeping fit can slow the ageing process of skin whilst also improving heart health, physique and mental well being.
